Reality?
07:07
|
|||
"Reality?"
as performed by Leopard Zeppard
yes, stay in touch with reality, won't you?
'cos if you stay in touch its easier to touch the ones around you.
yes, stay in touch with reality, won't you?
'cos if you stay in touch you can touch the ones around you.
fantasy's all very well when your lost out in the woods
the things you say the things you do only making sense to you
but don't loose touch with reality, will you?
it's true you must love and trust your imagination
the tool that bends and shapes your creation
the tool that is no tool, that boundless nation
go on head first chasing your dreamy horizons!
but believe in the love you have alway felt
even when love seems to pelt you in the head
not in the guts or through the eyes reaching out to touch it feels like miles...
whoops! here come the ridges of pain and the slough of cynicism
but don't be too hard on yourself your only human.
and out of field scathing judgement and 'constructive' criticism
but remember you're tired and probably coffee wired
and they're not out to get you!
but believe in the love you have always felt
even when love seems to pelt you 'round the head
not in the guts or through the eyes reaching out to touch it feels like miles...
now reality is hard to define, its in the mind most of the time,
but its an illusion we share and its everywhere
so stay in touch and reach out and touch
(and here some advice:)
be with it and move it,
laugh with it, play hard with it
be soft all the time and vulnerable,
let it show and let them know that the times
we're together are as precious as the sunrise in the morning
and every morning be in wonder
at all you have and all you do
'cos its all you have and
its never quite as good or quite as bad as it could be
believe me
and where ever you go well thats your home
and the stars above you mean you're never alone
and the lines of time are a book of wisdom you have to take with you
but don't loose touch with reality
breathe into your body
feel the earth 'neath your feet and the air on your face
and the time and the place will be one and the same with you
you, you ,you , you....
(oh! go on then!)

Traveler song

Traveler Song
written performed and produced by Leopard Zeppard
a traveler,
looking for friends and a home and security
is still a traveler with no where to go
come lay down beside me with my bridges behind me
blame my age and say i don't know.
the tide,
patterns keep repeating all the anger in history
compelled to find some where to flow
but nor blind this time or drunk on innocence
just filled with the bitter goddess, Hope.
a stone,
dragging down the witch and a boy in his labyrinth
can't climb out of his own kaliedoscope.
A deviant's mind finds a more deviant kind
and the roots of all this deep below...
deep below,
deep below.

Spirit Walker

Spirit Walker
as performed by Leopard Zeppard
spirit walker lead me on
across the ridges to the land of song
oh! spirit walker lead me on
across the ridges to the land of song
now i have this dream won't let it go
that where ever i wander my song's the road
so spirit walker lead me on
along the pathways to the land of song
i'm tired of thinking about what's going on
i want to loose myself in the land of song
spirit walker lead me on
away from this valley to the land of song
oh! spirit walker lead me on
across the ridges to the land of song
spirit walker lead me on
along this river to the lake of song
i wanna go there so bad i want to see and feel
i want to float above the ground of sound
i want to live there i'll take that chance
i'll sing i'll dance to the lake of song
the sun reflecting on the surface so wide
bathe in watery whispers when i let myself plunge
so spirit walker lead me on
across the ridges to the land of song
away from this valley so far away from home
glide down to the river to the land of song
oh spirit walker lead me on across the ridges to the land of song
la la la la la la land of song
la la la la la la land of song
la la la la la la la la laaaa do do do do do do do
la la la la la laaaa
spirit walker lead me on
across the ridges to the land of song

Philosophical Song

Philosophical Song
written produced and perfomed by Leopard Zeppard
How many blades of grass must I watch grow?
just one for a very low time...
How many cuts must i see sawn?
as many as you like just so long as they rhyme...
And how many trees must I fell...
just to keep myself warm?
There is still time to relearn everything and
watch the trees grow through the cracks in the road.
We can walk everywhere, eat herbs and weeds,
not fight birth and death and see the clear rivers flow.
Well that blade of grass just grew and grew and
I found myself in the garden
And those cuts i made, well some of them were true
and I found myself I built a little shelter.
And the trees I felled had already seeded themselves,
the forest will go on and on,
the forest will go on and on.
There is still time to relearn everything
and we got to let the trees - just grow.

Love Me with Nothing

Love Me With Nothing
as performed by Leopard Zeppard
you're my CD player, my color TV
you're the rotating shelves of my tape library
you're my favorite movie in the VCR
you're the airbag that hides behind the wheel of my car
you're the coffee grinder first thing in the morning
the weather channel promising the weather is warming
you're the blender that blends at the touch of a button
the waste disposal that grinds my left overs to nothing
so, love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all that I have in this world
love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all of my heart....
you're my mock aquarium plastic shower curtain
the junk mail that promises ten thousand bucks for certain
you're the nuclear power in my microwave
you're the lo-fat, lo-cal of my meatless entree
but love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all that I have in this world
love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all of my heart....
you're the door bell that chimes te yellow rose of Texas
the security gate that we fit to protect us
you're the late night large pizza we'll phone-in — delivered!
you're my extra cheeeeese - and my free twelve ounce soda!
so, love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all that I have in this world
love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all of my heart... (rpt)
well I think my song needs one more verse
more consumer durable to tell you of my love
but the credit card company just called round
and the buggers took everything that I owned
so, love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all that I have in this world
love me with nothing, love me with nothing
and I'll love you with all of my heart...

Going To Anyway

Going To Anyway
as performed by Leopard Zeppard on his album "Tender Wonder"
well I'm going to anyway
do you want to come with me
don't know where I'm going
do you want to come
well I'm going to anyway
do you want to come with me
don't know how I'm going to get there
love to have you along
got life and learning in mind
got a healing touch in hand
got a strong vibrant heart
want to spend some time?
got a little work to do
got some changes to go through
it'll be more fun with you
glad our paths coincide
but if ever one of us must go
some other path to follow
some new shining goal
hear another spirit call
then I'll send you off with a smile
support your first difficult miles
keep you in my heart for a while
meet you in some other form
well I'm going to any way
don't know where I'm going
embrace the not knowing
and embrace you too
yes we're going to anyway
so let's get started
yes we're going to anyway
why not come with me

Shaman Song
as performed by Leopard Zeppard on "Tender Wonder"
Gentle tender shamn
I'd do anything for you
my love I promise on this moutnain side
will always be in my heart.
And you can see in my heart
and I can see your eye in the sky
teach me to love my friend
beautiful man, my brother.
Sweet strong beautiful man,
I sing my prayer for you.
My love I promise in this wide desert
where you become earth and sky.
Magnificent earth and sky spirit
I'm a small part of you,
my love I promise in in this moment
eternally old becomes new.
Gentle tender shamnan
I'm a small part of you
my love I send under the silver light,
the silver light of the moon,
your love i feel under the silver light,
the silver light of the moon,
our love we share under the silver light,
the silver light of the moon.

Old Man's Footsteps

Old Man's Footprints
written produced and performed by Leopard Zeppard
i am walking through the desert
i see the old man’s footprints
i kneel where I am standing
i know he has been here not long before
looking to the horizon
the afternoon sun burns above me
i think he walked straight into that star
a cloud swirling gold
so close i feel i could stroke it with the back of my hand
i climb aboard, i am not alone
we see the old man’s footprints
walking straight into a stone…
we gaze in wonder as the stone becomes a mountain
wander lightly in her meadows always following his path
a stand of silver aspens softly invites simple smiles
feel the deep love of trees
you’re gazing at the high peaks…
where the old man is sitting pure as the snow
listening to the spirit clouds warm in the cold
i want so much to reach him
embrace his silent wisdom
love your brave rich body but he needs to be alone…
i feel a distance, io cannot comprehend it
i want so much to rend it
but you’ve heard the old man’s call
in a far distant woods,
sad, but shielded by the tender embrace
of a canopy of leaves
i see the old man’s footprints,
reflecting the half moonlight in the dark mulchy soil….
i am alone
but these footprints are everywhere i go
they are his, they are yours’
soon… they’ll be my own

Brothers Song
as performed by Leopard Zeppard
i remove the mask from the man,
i have no desire to conquer thee
i return like a river to the sea
i feel myself sink into the sand
i hold your vision in my hand
we stand as brothers on the ridges of the mountain,
drinking like shepherds at the edge of the stream,
leaf dappled light reaching for the sky
feet firm on the deep dank earth for strength to be alive.
we stand still bodies, together and unafraid,
feeling slowly while the forrest around us changes
roots branch leaf bark spirit and foundation
caress and mingle as one intimate creation
i remove the mask from the man,
i have no desire to conquer thee
i return like a river to the sea
i feel myself sink into your skin
i breath and let the feeling in
communing with each other in moments our breath minlges
memories merge and moments meld
for all time, together we remember,
never forgetting - we are one
i am the chile within the man
i only want to hold you
i return like a river to your sea
i feel myself skin into your sand
i lift my eyes heavenwards
gently swaying in the breeze earthed against the raging wind
sapping up the life of spring bathing and reflecting in sky fire
shifting shadows on a changing moon bejeweled with stars like spirit dust
embracing and exchanging wholly life force
tenderly returning to the soil
i remove the mask from the man
i have no desire to hurt you
i return like a river to your sea
i feel myself sink into your sand
i hold your vision in my hand
i breath and let the feeling in
i lift my arms heavenwards
i love you all i can
